You could be forgiven for thinking that a road by the side of a field isn't going to produce the most captivating of snaps.
But photographer Judd Patterson struck lucky when a water truck started to spray the crops near the Everglades National Park in Florida, America.

As the vivid arc formed in the sky, Mr Patterson grabbed his camera and took this stunning image.

The bright red colours formed when water used by the farmers to irrigate their crops hit the sunlight, giving Mr Patterson the chance capture this incredible photograph from the roadside.

The 29-year-old, from Florida, said: 'The water sprayed in to the air creates a fine mist that shows an ever-changing set of rainbows.
'It's fascinating to see these incredibly vivid colours hanging in the air so close to the road.'
