A woman has accused “Good Day New York” co-anchor Greg Kelly- son of Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly- of raping her in her Lower Manhattan office last October.
He denied the accusation through his lawyer.The woman told cops she had drinks with the broadcaster at the South Street Seaport Oct. 8 before going with him to her law office, where he allegedly raped her, police sources said. The woman did not report the alleged rape until Tuesday night, when she walked into the 13th Precinct and gave her account.The accusation was first reported by The New York Times. Cops interviewed the woman, but because of the conflict created by probing the commissioner’s son, they quickly turned the case over to the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.Andrew M. Lankler, Kelly's lawyer maintained his client's innocence Wednesday evening. “Mr. Kelly is aware that the New York County District Attorney’s office is conducting an investigation,” the statement said. “Mr. Kelly strenuously denies any wrongdoing of any kind, and is cooperating fully with the district attorney’s investigation. We know the district attorney’s investigation will prove Mr. Kelly’s innocence.”
