As Miranda in Sex and the City, Cynthia Nixon would put fashion and style ahead of almost everything.
But off-screen the 45-year-old actress is clearly happy to ditch her vanity in pursuit of her art, after shaving her head for a stage role.
 
Cynthia, who has a son Max with partner Christine Marioni, is set to play cancer-stricken poet Vivian Bearing in Wit at Manhattan’s Samuel J. Friedman theatre.

Previously, she has talked about her lack of vanity. She said: "Walking around in my own life with my children I give fashion very little thought. I am completely a jogging bottoms girl."
